George N. Koutsonicolis serves as a Managing Director of Restructuring, Investment Banking and Distressed Asset Support Services. He specializes in capital and operational restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, capital raising initiatives, and alternative recovery strategies on behalf of the firm’s clients. Mr. Koutsonicolis possesses significant experience in a variety of industries including energy, healthcare, financial services, residential & commercial real estate, manufacturing & distribution, business and IT services, and retail & consumer products.
Prior to joining SOLIC, Mr. Koutsonicolis served as a Director at Navigant Capital Advisors, LLC, supporting numerous restructuring, investment banking, and alternative recovery support mandates. Before joining Navigant Capital Advisors, LLC and its predecessor Casas, Benjamin & White, Mr. Koutsonicolis held an Associate position with Scotia Capital, the Corporate and Investment Banking division of The Bank of Nova Scotia, in the Energy and Utilities Group. Prior to joining Scotia Capital, he served as a Financial Analyst with ComEd’s Energy Sales and Marketing organization, structuring energy derivatives and commodity electricity transactions, evaluating competitive power generation alternatives and performing valuation analyses of electricity generation assets.
Mr. Koutsonicolis received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with concentrations in Finance, Economics and Entrepreneurship and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Loyola University of Chicago. He is Series 7 & 63 certified, holds the AIRA Certification in Distressed Business Valuation, and is a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor.
